Tajalli (“Tajalli,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Information We Collect
- Location:If you grant permission, we use your device’s approximate location to calculate accurate prayer times for you. Your location is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers.
- Voice input: When you use voice search, your speech is sent to a third-party speech recognition provider to be transcribed and matched against the Quran. Tajalli does not store your voice recordings.
- AI conversations: When you ask the AI assistant a question, your question is sent to a third-party AI model provider to generate a response.
- Account information: Signing in is optional. If you choose to sign in, we receive basic account details (such as your email address) from your authentication provider to create and identify your account.
- Saved conversations: If you are signed in, your AI conversations (titles and messages) are saved to your account on our servers so you can revisit them and sync them across devices. If you are not signed in, your conversations are stored anonymously — not linked to your identity — for up to 30 days to help us understand usage and improve the assistant, and are then automatically deleted.
- App settings and progress: Your preferences (such as selected translation, reciter, and reading position) are stored locally on your device.
- Device information: Non-identifying details such as device type, operating system, and app version, used for functionality and troubleshooting.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services.
- Calculate prayer times for your location.
- Process voice input to power voice search.
- Generate AI responses to your questions about Islam.
- Create and manage your account and save your conversation history so you can access it across devices.
- Diagnose problems and improve reliability.
3. How We Share Information
We share information only with trusted third-party service providers that help us deliver Tajalli, including:
- AI model providers that generate responses to your questions.
- Third-party speech recognition providers that process your voice input for voice search.
- An authentication provider that powers sign-in (when you choose to sign in).
- A privacy-friendly analytics provider that measures aggregate, anonymous usage of our website (such as page views). It does not use cookies and does not track you across other sites.
- An advertising and conversion-measurement provider (Google Ads) that helps us understand the performance of our advertising. It may set cookies on our website and process limited data (such as page visits and ad interactions) to measure conversions — for example, sign-ups or app downloads — and attribute them to our ads.
- Hosting, database, and infrastructure providers that operate our website and securely store your account and saved conversations.
These providers process your data only as necessary to deliver the Services and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations. We may also share information if required by law or in connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition). We do not sell your personal data.
4. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as needed to provide the Services or comply with legal obligations. On-device data — preferences, reading position, downloaded recitations — lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app. If you are signed in, your saved conversations are retained on our servers until you delete them or delete your account, after which they are removed. If you are not signed in, your conversations are stored anonymously and automatically deleted after 30 days.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other laws, such as accessing your data, requesting deletion, or opting out of certain processing. You can delete individual conversations at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated conversations from within the app. To exercise any other rights, contact us at team@tajalli.ai.
6. Children’s Privacy
Tajalli does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using current industry practices.
8. International Users
Your information may be transferred to and processed outside of your home country, where data protection laws may differ.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted with a revised “Effective Date.”
